TEACHING
I teach private lessons on piano, saxophone, flute, clarinet, composition, and songwriting and offer the rigor of a conservatory level education in the comfort of your own home.
I am a Grammy-award winning recording artist and arranger with over 20 years of experience teaching private lessons with Westchester Home Music and working with young children at Groove Performing Arts.
My training in Jazz Performance and Classical Composition at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and my masters studies in Music Psychology at NYU give me a wide variety of teaching methods and techniques that I use to help my students learn faster and play better. My goal is to transmit a deep love and understanding of the language of music and to share my genuine know-how based in practice, reading, listening, and creativity.
I offer a rigorous curriculum focusing on a 400-year arc from classical (Bach, Beethoven, Mozart) to jazz (John Coltrane, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis) to classic rock (Beatles, Leonard Cohen, Billy Joel) to contemporary (Beyoncé, Olivia Rodrigo, Hanz Zimmer) that is designed to help my students excel, discover their voice, and compose music of their own invention.
As an active artist practitioner, I show my students the real-world skills they need to succeed and play beautifully. The mastery they gain with me will last a lifetime, opening up new possibilities and adding meaning to their lives.
